Artisans & Crafts

1 Day

Sefrou’s artisanal tradition predates Fes, dating back to its days as a trading post between the Mediterranean and the Sahara. Hudaddine Square, ten minutes from Bab El Maqam inside the medina, is still the working heart of this scene — home to weavers, blacksmiths, tinsmiths, ironers, and the djellaba button makers for which Sefrou is nationally known. Nearby in Bhalil, the women of the village hand-weave the silk Aakad buttons used on every traditional Moroccan djellaba and caftan. Our Artisans & Crafts tours take you straight to the workshops — calmer, more authentic, and noticeably cheaper than the equivalent Fes souks.
